«New Frontiers» held «The World’s Largest Lesson»

Today the activists of Ukrainian public organization «New Frontiers» held a lesson about the  Global Goals for the leaders of the Kharkov municipal schools. The event was took place within the framework of the world educational project «The World's Largest Lesson», which aims to acquaint young people with the Global Goals.

The lesson was held in the format of the lively conversation between children and activists of the organization. At first there was presented an animated film that made students familiar with the Global Goals. After watching pupils shared their ideas and proposals for achieving the Global Goals in Ukraine.

After each of the 17 Goals was presented, the students had to choose the 4 most important purposes, in their opinion. Children came to the conclusion that the main problem in the world is the problem of poverty, and its elimination would lead to the liquidation of a number of other issues that depend on it. Also, the majority of students identified Goal №17 «Partnership for the Goals».

"Because one person can not cope with all the difficulties, but if we get together, we will achieve all the Goals faster and improve our world," - said one of the pupils. In addition, children identified Goal №2 «Zero hunger" and №16 «Peace, justice and strong institutions".

After reading the comics, with greater enthusiasm, boys and girls invented a super-heroes, able to improve the world and to accomplish one of the Global Goals. All the participants showed great interest and activity during the lesson and were awarded pleasant presents from the United Nations.

We hope that this important lesson helped to direct a positive energy of school lieders in the right direction and helped them to believe that they can become a driving force of changes. Achievement go the Global Goals requires the participation of everyone, even in young age. We have to educate a generation that will improve our world!
